As its name suggests, this website is intended for use as a guide. Rather than prescribing a particular direction, it endeavours to provide basic information and contact details to enable you to investigate options and details for yourself. Clearly the website cannot cater to the many and varied individuals needs of each of its readers, nor can it address every issue. It is also important to remember that the website does not set out to present complete and monolithic portrayals of each specialty or career. This is particularly true of the ‘personal comments’ sections, which are not intended to reflect perspectives that are homogeneous or universally held. The remarks have been supplied by individuals whose experiences are diverse, and some chapters have managed to present a wider range of views than others.

We strongly recommend that you speak to consultants and registrars who are currently working and training in specialties in which you are interested. The colleges offer a wealth of information on their web sites, and these should be consulted for the most up-to-date training information. For further assistance, support or guidance in relation to the development of your career, please do not hesitate to contact the CETU office.
