Accident and Medical Practice is the study of urgent medical care
from community Accident and Medical (urgent care) Clinics.
Accident and medical Clinics are open seven days until at least
8pm, have x-ray on site and manage urgent medical problems and
accidents.
Accident and Medical Practice is the 13th largest of the 35
branches of medicine that the Medical Council of New Zealand
recognises. Approximately 1.8 million consultations per annum occur
in Accident and medical facilities, which typically are open seven
days until at least 8pm, and have x-ray on site.
AMPA has approximately 200 members, 30% hospital, 70% community.
