WORKFORCE PROJECTIONS

	In 2005 there were 61 specialists in Geriatric Medicine active in New Zealand, 28 of whom were based in the Auckland area.
	For the whole of New Zealand, the Geriatric Medicine specialist to population ratio in 2001 was 1:91,214. 1

 

There are several vacancies in the Auckland region as well as in many parts of urban and rural New Zealand.  Some of these positions suit those also trained in General medicine.
